Sara Shaffer Nichols, 69, of Commodore, Pa., formerly of Kennett Square, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, after a yearlong illness with cancer.
She was the wife of John R. Nichols.
She was the daughter of Mary E. (Biddle) Shaffer and the late John W. Shaffer.
She was a 1958 graduate of Kennett Square High School.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband's parents, Edwin H. and Eva M. Nichols.
A service celebrating Sara's life will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, at the Purchase Line United Methodist Church, 17107 Route 286 Highway East, Commodore, PA 15729, with Pastor Timothy Bash officiating.
A meal will follow at the church activity center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Purchase Line United Methodist Church Building Fund at the above address.
Arrangements are being handled by the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd., Hillsdale.
